Cover reveal coming soon!
Here's the synopsis for my current historical romance novel, to be released in May 2018. WHERE THIS ROAD ENDS Ridgely Rails Legacy - Book 1 “Suffering has been stronger than all other teaching... I have been bent and broken, but - I hope - into a better shape.” – Charles Dickens, Great Expectations Ella Mae Hutchins knows exactly what she wants from life. Getting it turns out to be much harder than she expects. She has only two dreams: to marry Daniel Evans and to become a successful novelist. When neither dream seems achievable, she sets out to build a life without either. After all her efforts fail, Ella Mae returns to her hometown broken. Determined to start again, the last thing she expects is to encounter the man she blames for ruining her life. Although age and suffering have changed them both, can she forgive Daniel for breaking her heart and is she brave enough to hope for a writing career in a time when female novelists are rare? The creative process is one of blood, sweat, and tears, throwing it all in the garbage, and starting over with more blood, sweat, and tears. I had written ten chapters of my current work in progress when I decided that I just couldn't connect with the story, so I tossed it all out and started from scratch. Back to page one.
The good news is that this time it's coming far more easily, and I'm already back to chapter ten of the rewrite. I'm on pace to have it available for sale by my personal deadline: Ridgely's annual Strawberry Festival in May. My graphic designer is busy at work on the cover art, which I hope to be able to share with you very soon. It's still set in my sweet, historic town of Ridgely, Maryland, I've just changed the characters and tweaked the plot a bit. I'm still working out some of the details, but I plan to make it the first of a three book series. More information will become available at a later date... For now, I am just happy to announce that there will be another novel released this year. There for a while, I didn't think it was actually going to happen! |
